Phenology Floración
Plant description Herbaceous epiphyte, pseudopetioles green with margins rolled inwards towards the centre of petiole. One terminal mature inflorescence with small conical fruits hidden by bigger bracts arranged in bright pinkish-red outer whorl and smaller bracts in orange-yellow inner whorl, one axillary immature green inflorescence with no fruits.
Locality and habit remarks Tropical, lowland, evergreen, mid-Magdalena type rainforest on karst. Clearing in the forest near the river. sunny spot. the specimen was growing on vertical trunk of Meliaceae-like tree, SE facing, 4.5m from the ground. Forest on E side of the Rio Claro river, past the bridge from the Blue Morpho. Walk approx. 15 m direction N from bridge.
