Biological attributes

Plant description Rare liana; stem trichomes obvious, villous and purple; leaves coriaceous, dark green and paler underside, venation brighter yellow/green, purple trichomes.
Locality and habit remarks DIsturbed secondary forest on limestone hill; vine climbing on mature trees 4-5m above the path; it grows at forest margin with forest floor of leaf debris ferns, herbs and Acaceae. Take the highway to San Luis/Medellin from Rio Claro Nature Reserve entrance. Enter a dirt-track road heading SW uphill off highway. Cement Factory is behind on ascent. Vine located up the track on leftside of path on steep forest margin ledge, hanging above irrigation hole.
