Biological attributes

Phenology Floración
Plant description Woody terrestrial tree growing to ca 3 meters. The main bough of the tree has collapsed and branches have become ascending boughs along the original trunk with a slight arching habit. Stinging hairs are present on petioles and lamina undersides. The bright white flowers have purple/pink pedicels.
Locality and habit remarks The tree was growing in the understory of tropical, lowland, evergreen, mid-Magdalena type rainforest on limestone, a few meters above the creek itself on dry ground. Located on the trail heading west along La Mulata creek which begins just north of the La Mulata Cabanas.
