Plant description	Terrestrial herb to 100 cm, very frequent. Brown rhizome of 15 cm in diameter, roots whitish. Leaves 104.5 x 52 cm, shiny green adaxially & light green abaxially; petiole 52 cm long, light green. Young inflorescence with a white spathe & salmon spadix, the mature inflorescence with a black spathe and orange spadix. Beetles found in the young inflorescence.
Locality and habit remarks	Magdalena valley forest, evergreen tropical lowland forest on karst, on a west facing sandy riverbank that can flood, among ferns. In the ravine that meets the Rio Claro, along river north or downstream from bridge.
