Herb located within the Magdalena Valley, in evergreen tropical lowland forest. Herb ~1m high, growing on the forest floor, approximately 1.5m from a trail, amongst species of fern, piparaceae and other araceae. Area of forest partly shady, open, with little canopy cover - species particularly abundant in this area. Soil dry to sandy. Understory herb growing within the Rio Claro Nature Reserve on the east bank of the Rio Claro river. Used bridge from the Rio Claro hotel to cross the river. Plant located 45m north east through the forest from the end of this bridge. |
