Biological attributes

Phenology	Floración
Plant description	Tree with a height of around 15 m. DBH 3.5 cm. No latex. Leaves fresh green scent. Fruit a squashed sphere. Immature fruit green, developing a red blush then turning dark purple when ripe. Species generally rare, however individual found in a clustered group of the same species of varing ages, around 5 trees present.
Locality and habit remarks	Growing in disturbed regrowth forest on limestone. At the side of a dirt track with often use. Branches hanging over embankment at the side of the track. Growing on the side of steep small gorge. Partially in the shade. Near entrance to Rio Claro Natural Reserve, taking small track off the Medellin highway opposite the cement factroy. On a north east bearing from the start of the track for 325 meters. Hanging over an embankment at the side of the track. Growing on the steep slope on the side of a small gorge, at the side of the track.
