Biological attributes

Phenology Floración
Plant description Tree approx. 8 m in height & 65 cm DBH, upright habit, branching open and pendant to 1 m above ground; bark smooth, pale off-white with many lichens with fine orange striations, olive green 1 mm under exterior layer turning yellow on inner bark and wood; cream; young twigs red, older brown. Inflorescences in panicles, flowers with 5 green sepals, 5 white free petals, 10 stamens with appendages, 1 style unbranched.
Locality and habit remarks Disturbed secondary forest on limestone hill. Tree grows on raised forest margin beside grassland. Woodland foor spare with leaf litter, small shrubs and herbs. Take the highway to San Luis/Medellin from Rio Claro Nature Reserve entrance. Enter a dirt-track road heading SW uphill off highway. Cement Factory is behind on ascent. Tree located next to grassland that emerges on right above the path.
