Phenology Floración
Plant description Infrequent small shrub to 2 m. Single stem, covered in moss and lichen. Brown trunk and twigs. Glabrous leaves waxy and shiny when young. Stipules brownish. Inflorescence green spike, flowers subtended by greenish-yellow linear bracts. Calyx yellow-green. Corolla white, hairy. Anthers cream colored. Unripe fruit green, ripe fruit white.
Locality and habit remarks Magdalena Valley tropical lowland evergreen forest on karst. Woodland next to path (slight clearing). Nearby plants include ferns, Melastomaceae, Araceae. East side of Rio Claro River. 25 m N of bridge from Rio Claro Restaraunt. After crossing bridge, right after first fork in path, away from river, on left side of path, approximately 15 m.
