Biological attributes

Phenology Floración
Plant description Tree, with 3 principle trunks; the alive trunk is 15 m & 17 cm DBH but not erected; pale brown bark with many dark brown lenticles and fissures; red bark slash and inside a sticky exudate, no special odor. Leaves simple, opposite, young leaves are normal green, old leaves are yellow, most of the leaves grow on the apex of branch. Fruits grow on branch, young fruits yellow green, mature fruits dark green, fruits without special odor, pulp easily oxidizable.
Locality and habit remarks Lowland tropical rainforest in the Magdalena valley; one of the highest trees in this area, good sunlight exposure, many shrubs and small trees around, two of trunks are dead with many epiphytic lianas and fungus. Lowland forest on east side of the Rio Claro river. Across the bridge of the Blue Morpho. Northwest to the bridge and 22m straight-line distance.
