Plant description	Tree to 8 m. Leaves glabrous, red to brown when young. Buds have two apical leaves held together thanks to a mucillagenous substance. White latex is present and slow to exude from the twig. White flowers. The fleshy fruits are globose, deep red and split in five lobes presenting the seeds
Locality and habit remarks	Secundary sub andian forest with trees up to 20 m. The forest composition is: Araceae, Melastomataceae, Aracaceae and Euphorbiacea.
